I really think Thanksgiving and the other night when i splurged, really messed up my body, as far as weight loss goes...not sure though. even though it wasnt as much as prior weigh ins, im still happy about the results:) And im really looking forward to the next weigh in. i gotta stay focussed, with bday parties and christmas parties...it might be tough, but im tougher dammit! lol. and seriously, it wil feel so nice to get out of the 330lbs range. i weighed 333lbs when my first son was born...almost exactly 4 years ago!

Yeah buddy! 341lbs!! Not bad for a guy who has only been doing this for 60 days! lol. now im excited to get into the 330 range...that will the weight i was when me and my wife had our first son, back in december of 05! I really am happy about my progress, and yeah, besides my feet and knee, i feel really good! im not craving stuff like i use too...and i feel in control, and that is by far the best part about this whole experience. i feel like im dictating how my body should act...not the junk! lol. Anywho, i love weigh in day, and i cant wait to do it again in 20 more days!:) ps: special thanks to my wife for helping me out so much. she's not dieting the same as me, but eating better, and she's down 16lbs or so! So today is day 50! WOW! I cant believe im already a quarter of the way there...day wise! lol. im sure it will take a little longer than 200 days to reach my goal weight of under 230lbs. and today was....okay. like i stated in my video, i was having a small craving for sweets, which i think might be because i had so much sugar on halloween...i mean up until then, i could care less about sweets..but tonight, i did find myself thinking about them, when i saw others eating some. but i think this is a good lesson for me...what i eat, i crave! if i eat healthly foods, i crave healthy foods..when i eat junk food, i crave...well you got it:) on to other things, my feet. they feel almost 100% better! i was so glad to have done my cardio, i only wish i hadnt waited so long to do it. doing it this late was tough because daylight savings is telling me i was doing cardio at like 1am...soon ill be use to the time change. and as far as taking the benefiber, i hope it works...ive been pretty backed up since Friday! seriously!!! anywho, im glad to be at day 50 and cant wait to see what the next 50 days will bring...hopefully no more gout...knock on wood:)

WOW! I didnt notice how low cal i was today until i wrote it down. i ran out of cottage cheese today, so i had an egg beater and salsa instead on my dinner toast...and for some reason i (wifey) didnt remember to cook up any mini turkey sausages. i still felt really full at dinner. i didnt have any apples either, so i didnt have any apple slices tonight...i mean i feel fine, but i dont like being so low cal...rest assured ill be up towards 480'ish tomorrow. speaking of tomorrow, i cant believe day 50 is already here! its seems like only week 3 maybe 4...but here we are finishing out week 7! im excited for week 8, i really am. i want to get my cardio back on schedule. thanksgiving is in about 25 days and i want to be in better shape when i see my family at thanksgiving dinner. im also excited about weighing in on the scale in less than 11 days...i wonder if i gained weight from yesterdays pigging out...if i did, thats the price i must pay:) who knows though, maybe it did me some good. i dont know. anyways, goodbye week 7, and hello week 8!!!

Today ends week 6! besides my feet, it was a great week...especially after fridays weigh in. as far as today goes, everything went really good. i was able to walk a little more and my feet seemed to be better...i have been taking pain killers so that could be helping me out. i hope this week is the week im able to start cardio up again..i miss it! and of course...the diet was easy breezy! so anywho, farewell to week 6...and lets get it on week 7! OH! One really positive thing today..I put on a shirt that I havent worn for awhile because it was getting too tight in the gut area...seriously, every time i sat down, i thought the buttons going down my shirt were going to pop off..but today i put it on, and it was so loose in the stomach area. it was baggy when i sat down with it on. i was stoked. my wife even noticed it:)

WOO HOO! Today was awes! I finally weighed in and i was really, really stoked! I've lost over 35lbs in only 40 days! Now, Im not convinced that i'll lose this much every time i weigh in, but hey...i'll take it for now!lol. Im just happy to see the progress with everything im doing..like ive said everyday for the last little while, the diet is no big deal...and i feel good...besides my feet. lol. i really do think im going in the right direction and that im making some REAL lifestyle changes...ALSO...i bought some jeans online from old navy, size 48...which is the biggest size they make, but they fit...with a little room too spare! ive always had a pretty wide waist....even when i weighed 200lbs i was wearing 36's. i dont think ive been in 32's since junior high school....17 years ago! lol..anyways, i had a great day and had Subway again with my wife..we finally had a night alone...for 2 hours as the boys played at gma's house:) what a great way to celebrate...my wife has lost about 11lbs! woo hoo! she's doing awes too!

Yeah, today was good...nothing new to report as far as cravings and hunger pains...none at all! i really should consider myelf lucky, because im sure there are people who have a real hard time with this kind of diet...and for that, im sorry. Now i know i said i was going to "force" myself to do cardio, but my feet were still too sore to try anything. i just dont want to push it, and then have my feet more sore for even longer...that just isnt a good plan. i think last night i was just really pumped about wanting to do some sort of cardio...all in good time. i just need to stay focussed on the diet right now, and when my feet are ready....cardio is mine!:) well, as always, im still just thinking about day 40 and weighing in...i cant wait!

Yeah, it's not much, but it does fill me up! i was actually wrong in the video...calorie wise, this meal is about 330 ca;s....which is pretty low calorie. there's really nothing fancy about it, just the foods i need to feel full and satisfied. Is it gonna get 5 stars in a flavor review...no not at all! LOL! It's not gross, but its not that exciting. I do add a little hot sause to my veggies every once in awhile, and some pepper to my low fat cottage cheese and toast...anyways, I start by eating the 2 cups of veggies...after im done with those, im actually kind of full. i also have some water to drink with it. Try it sometime for yourself...or not. LOL!:)

Today was good...no probs at all!..Im just getting too use to this being so easy. lol. it blows me away at how much easier this is than i had first thought it would be. no cravings and i was pretty full up until dinner. it was good too. i was so full by the end of it, and then to have the turkey sausage was so nice. they are spiced just right! im glad that my calorie intake was higher than the last two days...i fell better mentally knowing that im not lower than i want to be...i know its weird. my walk was good tonight, but im still bummed that my feet arent feeling 100% better. like i mentioned in the video, my legs feel great, like going another mile, but my feet so "NO WAY!" Oh well, i'll just stick to what im doing and hopefully as i lose more weight, the better my feet will feel. i did lift tonight and it felt good! my pecs and tri's felt swall and burning...not to bad though...again, im not going for power right now, just for stimulation. so yeah, today was good...OH! I am seriously over any sweet cravings..at least today i was. when my boys were done with dinner, they wanted some cookies, and as i held them, and even smelled them...the cookies that is...i didnt even want any...SERIOUSLY! I remember as i sat down to the dinner table thinking how cool that feeling was. i looked at them, and i just didnt feel like having any. could it be that i haven't had them for so long, that my body is just not interested in them anymore? wow! that is cool, if that is the case....who knows though, someday i might feel differnently....i really just want to getto the point where if i have a cookie...i only have one! what i like about whats happening to me, perhaps for mentally, is that i feel like am getting control of my hunger....and that i dont need to fear junk food, but rather have a respect for it and my body, enough to realize when enough is enough....i will never binge again!...unless im in a pie eating contest:)

Man, I'm getting lower and lower on my calories...i think i will add something worth 50-60 cals to my diet starting tomorrow...i feel fine, and again, no cravings or hunger pains today. and i actually had to force the last few bites down. ive done good on my water and my cardio was great! i did 3 minutes straight on my Speed Squat intervals. thats really good for me. my legs were on fire! but they felt really good. my energy was great today, and my feet were...ah, so so. not 100% but i think they're doing okay...i think maybe its not Gout, but maybe im just too heavy to be walking so much on the street...even though its just a mile a night. i mean i have over 170lbs more on my body, than i did in 2002! thats a lot of extra weight that my feet might not be strong enough to support all the walking. but thats okay. as soon as i get the weight down i'll be able to do more on my feet...enough about my feet! Wow! i didnt realize how low cal i was today...well i feel good, so i guess thats what counts. my feet are doing a lot better today, and my walk went really well. i think i might do intervals every other night..that might feel good too. my wife picked up the low fat cottage cheese instead of the fat-free, and man...i swear it tastes ten time better! it actually has a taste now. lol. so yeah, everything went well. not bad for the first day of my fourth week. ALSO... i just want to say thanks to those who have voiced their support and advice in their comments. i understand that im not doing the traditional 5-6 meals a day, averaging somewhere around 1500 calories...but ive done that before, many times, and its never worked for me. ive never tried such a low cal diet, simply because i thought it was impossible...but everyday i do it, i prove to myself at least, that it is possible. i guess i just got to the point where ive decided that "Everyone is different" and not everything is going to work the same for everyone. Im testing the theory if "You have to speed your metabilism up to lose weight". i think that might not work for everyone. i want to see if it is possible to lose FAT with a slow metablism...i know its weird, but if im right, cool, and if im wrong...well i guess this blog will prove that. i have a feeling that while everyone is trying to speed their metablism up, perhaps its just about learning how to get the most of whatever kind of metablism you have. if you have a fast metablism...GREAT!....eat 6 times a day...if not though...maybe catering to a slow metablism with the right portions and foods can work too. like i said, ive tried lots of diets that have you eat so much through the day, but i didnt like it. for one, i was always hungry..ALWAYS!...every 2 hours my body was starving for food. i dont like that. and secondly, i dont want to have to eat so often...its all about a lifestyle change, and that just isnt the lifestyle i want...to constanly need food every other hour. with what im doing now, i feel good, and only hungry, maybe an hour before my dinner. thats it! and its nothing like a starving sensation. just ready to eat. and as soon as im done eating...i feel full for the whole night! its really what i like. now as i get closer to my goal weight, i will increase the calories i take in each meal, but not really increase the amount of meals i have per day. NOW...if i want to gain more muscle, which i might..all i'll have to do is increase my meals with an extra serving of protiens....whether thats an extra chicken breast, can of tuna or whatever! So anyways, thats a little bit about why im choosing to do such a low cal diet for now...i may change it if i feel like its not working at some point, im not opposed to that. but until i cross that bridge, i think i'll stick with this for as long as i can...to be honest with you, i didnt think i would ever make it this long on 500 cals a day...and i feel good:) But again, i can only speak for myself.

Yeah, today was great! My feet seem a little bit better, but who knows how they'll feel tomorrow. I really liked switching dinner up a bit, and those Turkey Sausages are so damn good! I could eat those everyday! i actually was thinking about packing a few of those for thanksgiving dinner this year. anyways, things went well with cardio, i actually pushed it on the last interval and went 2 minutes straight! i usually do 1 minute at a time, so to double that, felt great!the only bummer today was still getting that pain in my abs when doing situps...ouch! maybe when i lose more weight, it wont hurt as much...i dont know. i might need to get it looked at soon...blah:( well, enough said. today was a great end to 3 weeks of doing this....here's to week 4!

DAY 20! I cant say enough, about how easy the last 20 days has gone..okay not easy, easy, but easier than i thought it would be. i thought it was going to be so hard and all i would do all day is crave sweets and cheese burgers...but i haven't! ive been able to stick to only eating 500 calories or less, and even enjoy it! i get full at dinner and i dont feel like eating a buffet all the time. i truly can see this working for a long time! im excited to have lost 14lbs since i last weighed in on the 8th day...but im not expecting that kind of weight loss at each weigh in. im more proud of myself for sticking with this for this long...and seeing 10% of my goal - reached! If my feet didnt hurt so much, this would be even better...but thats alright..it hasnt stopped me from pushing forward with this. and like i mentioned in my video, having my wife doing this with me, is a HUGE help! she's my cheerleader, my inspiration and i couldnt do it without her. Today was really nice...besides my feet - AGAIN! They kill! Oh well, nothing much i can do about that, that i know of. The highlight of the day had to be our trip to the Asian Market...because we found the Shiritaki Noodles. They were good in the Spaghetti we made, but it could have been better. Dont get me wrong, it was a whole lot better than nothing! And the fact that it was so low cal, made it all the better. I ate a lot and it was only 340 calories total. I will definetly be eating more Shiritaki Noodles throughout the duration of my 200 days. And one more thing...i didnt drink a lot of water today...i will do better tomorrow.

Today was good...besides my feet! They hurt! Today was a lot better than yesterday as far as enery goes. I felt a lot less tired, and that was nice. still no cravings or hunger pains...but i am excited to try some of that pasta i heard about today, Sherytaki...im sure i spelled it wrong! lol. nevertheless, i am excited to try it. i enjoyed my walk tonight, but it was still tough. i cant wait to get down to a weight where i can job a little. my feet are still sore, but im just pushing through it. not sure if its gout or what...i just hope it doesnt get worse anytime soon. i did a little lifting, but the weight felt pretty heavy..anywho, i am really low on my calories because im eating a different kind of chicken breast, and my wife bought fat free cottage cheese instead of the low fat type ive been having...the fat free has 80 cals per serving...and the low fat has 90 cals per serving..but the taste is better for sure...so im fine with a few extra calories...i really dont like being this low on the calories so ill try and increase it a little more tomorrow. It's not much, but this meal is actually really good. The cottage cheese is something I've had to acquire a taste for, but now i really do like it. The low calorie wheat bread is really, really thin,,,but it does make for good toast.and of course the salsa adds a nice flavor...you could probably substitute it with hot sauce...you know what would be a good topping, a big juicy red slice of fresh tomato..mmmm!

Today was a great day! I am really surprised that i am weighing in at 391lbs...thats a whole lot, but a lot less than i had thought. Im stoked too because now i can weigh in every few days and see how im doing. the cool thing too is that the scale was on clearance at Target for $20.00...that sure beats the price I was going to pay for a 500lbs capacity one...the cheapest one i found online was $80.00 plus shipping! Word for the day...CRAVINGS!! Man they were killing me today! That and the thoughts of quitting...they go hand and hand. I just kept telling myself that I'm strong enough to see this through. Yeah it sucks,,and my gut is hurting, and my energy is low, but my desire to make it all the way to day 200 will not let me fail. I think that I will have a fatty meal or two on Halloween..but I dont know yet. Maybe I can make it to Thanksgiving! That would be awesome. Halloween would be awes too though...That's like 44-45 days away still. I still am really excited to get my new weight scale! Then I can see how well I'm doing. My mother in law gave me her input on it all, and she thinks it's not a good idea..I want to prove her wrong...that this is a good idea, as tough as it is, and that i can do it. One thing though, is that i dont think that yogurt is a very good meal alone in the morning...i would rather have egg beaters and salsa and toast..its only 20 calories more than the yogurt, but mentally it felt like 150 calories more!!! I think I'll have that in the morning. Also! I'm excited to order my new 500 lbs max capacity scale on Monday....WOO HOO!! Now I'll be able to monitor how my weight loss is going...on a daily basis.

Additional Notes:
I feel pretty good, considering I've cut my calories so much. I was hungry around my last meal 2, but nothing i felt like i couldn't control. If it's this easy...my next 200 days should be easier than I thought....yeah right! LOL! I'm just waiting for it to get tougher...we'll see. I dont have a scale yet, so I'm really anxious to get one, so I can start measuring that aspect of my progress. I should have a new scale within the next 3 weeks....man that seems like forever!

Day 1 - 091409




Today is the first day of my 200 days of weight loss! I've never set a goal like this!!! I have lots of reasons why I will succeed...and me wanting to eat unhealthy food is my only reason for failure....and that reason alone is not enticing enough for me to want to quit. Do I know what to expect at the end of this chapter of my life? Not at all!!! But I know I'll be better as a person when that last day gets here....here's to April 1st, 2010!
